1. Feature: What software do?
2. The external interfaces: How does the software interact with people, system hardware, other materials, and other software?
3. Yield: What is the speed, availability, response time, recovery time software functions, etc.?
4. Attributes: What are the portability, correctness, maintenance, security, etc. considerations?
5. Constraints design imposed on an application. Are there any required standards in effect, the application language, political integrity of the database, resource limits, operating environment (s), etc.?
